The Tambrera restaurant is bright and airy with modern furniture and colourful painted pictures on the walls.
The menu is varied and there is also a good selection of wines. Considering that this restaurant is attached to the Boa Vista Hotel, it is suprisingly cheap with prices that compare favourably with many other restaurants in Sal Rei.

John,
I was wandering if this was the restaurant in the hotel, thanks for confirming. In March 2006, my first day ever in Sal Rei, I was planning a meal there, the Estate Agents across the road pointed me to Blu Marlin instead. We all know how good Blu Marlin is, I have never ventured back to Tambrera! Was the food good? The same day our Agent from the UK referred me to Te Manche, one of our favourite haunts!
I do suppose a restaurant 2006 does not translate to the same restaurant 2009! I know the Hotel is advertised heavily on TripAdvisor and other websites!

The restaurant had airconditioning, the staff where friendly and there was a good choice of wine. The menu was typical with a variety of fish and some meat served with chips, rice or salad. There was a decent dessert menu. The price for 2 meals and a bottle of portuguese red wine was 2100 escudos.
Regards,
John |
